Waste and Recycling

Williams College recycles and throws away an estimated combined 1200 tons of materials each year. Of that, approximately 20% is recycled or reused, while the other 80% is send to landfills or incinerators.

Williams recycles or reuses mixed office paper, cardboard, newspaper, magazines, plastic, glass, aluminum cans, scrap metal, electronics, food waste (in to compost), fluorescent lamps, batteries, and some dorm furniture.
