How to Recycle at Williams

In public areas: Place these in the red recycling containers marked "paper."
In classrooms and offices: Place in the small brownish containers (smaller than trash containers). In dorms: Bring to the trash/recycling room in your dorm, and keep separate from newspaper and magazines. |

While these items can be recycled, please don't put them in the "paper" containers. Place these in newspaper racks that can be found near the other recycling containers. |

| Plastic, Glass, and Metal | ||

In public areas: Place these in the green containers marked "plastic glass cans."
In classrooms and offices: There are no recycling containers in classrooms and offices for these items, so please find the nearest green container in your building marked "plastic glass cans." In dorms: Bring to the trash/recycling room in your dorm. |

| Cardboard | ||

Flatten and stack next to newspaper racks. Newspaper racks are located near the other recycling containers in public areas, and in dorm trash/recycling rooms. | See newspaper rack. |
| Compact Fluorescent Lightbulbs | ||
| CFLs contain small amounts of mercury and must be treated as a hazardous waste. Place these in a labeled container and write the date that you started accumulating the bulbs. Contact the Facilities Service desk for pick up at 597-2486. | ||
| Electronic Equipment | ||

These items can contain lead or mercury and cannot be disposed of in the trash. Contact the Facilities Service desk at 597-2486 to arrange for pick up. | |
| Ink Cartridges | ||
| Bring these to Central Office Services in Stetson Hall. | ||
| Non Recycleable Items | ||
|
These should go in trash containers. Where possible reduce the amount you use. | |
