On Tuesday, February 5, 2008 Williams is participating in Focus the Nation, a national teach in designed to foster dialogue on the solutions to global warming. A series of workshops will take place over the course of the day, featuring topics such as environmental justice, sustainable design, local initiatives and more. A town hall style panel at 4 pm offers an opportunity for members of the college community to learn first hand from senior administrators about how the College is addressing issues related to campus sustainability — bring your questions. Finally, Christopher Flavin, President of the Worldwatch Institute will give a lecture “Climate of Hope: The Path to a Low-Carbon Economy” at 8:00.
Many faculty members have pledged to devote part or all of their class time on this day addressing how climate change affects their discipline.
We hope to see you at at one (or many) of the events. Click here for a full schedule.
This event has been organized by Thursday Night Grassroots, and sponsored by the Center for Environmental Studies, the Zilkha Center for Environmental Initiatives, and the President’s Office.
