Summer Theatre Lab Announces its August Program
WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass., August 1, 2008 -- The Williams College Summer Theatre Lab, now in its fourth season, will showcase its body of creative work in the CenterStage of the '62 Center for Theatre and Dance August 8 - 10.
The eight-week program brings Williams students together with professional artists from the worlds of theatre, film, and television to collaborate on innovative projects and original work. Many visiting artists are alumni of the Williams Theatre Department who have successful careers in the performing arts and return to the '62 Center to experiment with new dramatic material and new ways of working.
August 8th through the 10th THE LAB will present a weekend festival of theatrical work produced by the members of the company. Sam Shepard's Suicide in Bb will be the centerpiece production of this weekend of plays and performances presented in repertory. In addition to the scheduled performances, there will be a panel discussion with visiting alumni and a screening of THE LAB video project: How Was Your Weekend: Doug and Jamie.
